VetosEurope Wins Four Awards for Sustainable Cattle Farming Innovations

VetosEurope, an agritech company based in Lugano, Switzerland, has received four prestigious awards from World Business Outlook magazine, recognizing its contributions to sustainable agriculture and cattle farming. The accolades include Best AgriTech Innovation & Climate Impact Innovation Award Europe 2026, Most Sustainable Agriculture Solution of the Year Europe 2026, Best Scientific Research & Development Excellence Award Europe 2026, and Outstanding Sustainable Livestock Farming Solution Europe 2026.

The awards highlight VetosEurope's work in developing natural feed supplements that reduce methane emissions from cattle while enhancing productivity. Methane is a potent greenhouse gas, 28 times more effective at trapping heat than carbon dioxide, and is a major byproduct of ruminant digestion. VetosEurope's flagship product, Anavrin, addresses this issue directly. Independent trials conducted by Universidad de la República in Montevideo, Uruguay, and Wageningen University and Research in the Netherlands have shown that Anavrin reduces methane emissions by up to 17.5% and 13%, respectively, while also decreasing methane intensity by 16.3%. These reductions are significant for climate-smart agriculture and have been validated by the UK-based Carbon Trust, adding international credibility to the product.

Beyond its environmental benefits, Anavrin also boosts cattle performance. Trials indicate that it increases meat yield by 70 grams per day and milk output by 1.5 liters per day. This dual benefit of climate impact and productivity is a key competitive edge for VetosEurope, offering farmers a practical tool to reduce their carbon footprint without sacrificing output.

The company was founded over a decade ago by a family with deep roots in the global live-cattle trade, combined with a team of scientists specializing in natural feed supplements. Its philosophy, "Inspired by nature, to help nature," is reflected in its research and development efforts. VetosEurope has partnered with universities worldwide to develop additives that mirror natural compounds, ensuring that products are both effective and safe. The company's commitment to scientific credibility is evident in its portfolio, which is backed by more than 20 scientific research projects.

VetosEurope is currently developing a methane reduction project in Italy, which aims to significantly reduce emissions from cattle farming by inhibiting enteric methanogenesis. This project will be certified under the Verra Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and structured as a grouped project, involving beef and dairy cattle farmers in countries such as Uruguay, Italy, and Spain. Farmers participating in the project can benefit from innovative feeding practices, contribute to climate change mitigation, and receive potential financial returns linked to verified emission reductions.

The company's influence extends globally through partnerships and distribution networks, with products marketed across Europe, Latin America, and Asia. VetosEurope's model is built on three pillars: scientific credibility, global distribution, and a farmer-centric approach. This strategy has allowed the company to align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those addressing climate action and responsible consumption.

Commenting on the awards, Carloalberto Ghizzoni, Partner & CEO of VetosEurope, stated, "Winning these four prestigious accolades from World Business Outlook is a profound milestone that validates VetosEurope's commitment to reshaping global agriculture." Shankar Shivaprasad, Managing Director of World Business Outlook, added, "VetosEurope stood out during our rigorous evaluation process as a rare pioneer capable of bridging the gap between rigorous scientific research and scalable, practical climate impact."

As methane reduction becomes a regulatory and market priority, VetosEurope's products like Anavrin could become mainstream. The company's scientific credibility and niche expertise provide a strong foundation for growth, offering policymakers a tangible solution to meet emission reduction targets and farmers a way to future-proof their operations against tightening environmental regulations.
