SS Innovations to Host 2026 Global Robotic Surgery Conference Featuring Battlefield Drone System

SS Innovations International, Inc. will host the Global Multi-Specialty Robotic Surgery Conference in New Delhi, India from April 9-11, 2026. This third installment is expected to surpass last year's attendance of more than 1,400 in-person and 600 virtual participants from 17 nations, bringing together surgeons, thought leaders, and innovators to shape the future of robotic and minimally invasive surgery. The conference will feature more than 20 live telesurgeries performed with the SSi Mantra surgical robotic system across multiple specialties. These demonstrations will explore critical aspects of telesurgery including connectivity, latency management, cybersecurity, and clinical protocols. Several procedures will utilize the SSi MantrAsana Tele Surgeon Console, a compact chair-based version of the larger command center that enables portability and requires less space.

One of the most significant innovations to be showcased is the SSi Vimana Aero drone system, currently under development as a trauma surgery system designed for battlefield deployment. The system is intended to bring expert robotic surgical care directly to wounded soldiers in active battle zones, bridging the critical time gap between injury and medical evacuation. Deployed via a heavy-lift autonomous drone, the system lands near casualties and deploys miniature robotic arms with seven degrees of freedom, operated remotely by trauma surgeons through an SSi Mantra command center. The SSi Vimana Aero platform is designed to address hemorrhaging, wound repair, chest decompression, shrapnel extraction, and field suturing to help stabilize patients until evacuation teams arrive. This technology represents a potential breakthrough in military medicine and emergency response capabilities.

Additional innovations on display include Project Operion, an interactive display of the "Operating Room of the Future" featuring mobile surgical infrastructure and telesurgery integration, and the MantraM Mobile Robotic Telesurgery Unit, a bus designed to bring specialized surgical robotic care and training to underserved communities regardless of location. The conference will feature multispecialty sessions covering urology, thoracic, gastroenterology, head & neck, gynecology, colorectal, general and pediatric specialties, with separate cardiac-focused breakout sessions. Distinguished guests include Dr. Fred Moll, widely recognized as the "Father of Robotic Surgery," along with Sri Madhusudan Sai, Dr. Naresh Treahan, Dr. Mylswamy Annadurai, and Dr. Ashutosh Tewari.

Dr. Sudhir Srivastava, Chairman and CEO of SS Innovations, stated that the event will continue to elevate the theme of decentralizing and democratizing access to surgical robotic care. The conference represents a significant step toward making robotic surgery more accessible globally, particularly through technologies like the mobile MantraM unit and portable surgical consoles. More information about the conference is available at https://ssinnovations.com/SMRSC_2026/about/, with registration accessible at https://ssinnovations.com/SMRSC_2026/register/. The event's focus on live demonstrations and emerging technologies positions it as a critical forum for advancing surgical robotics beyond traditional hospital settings.
