Home-Based Neurorehabilitation Triples Therapy Dose, MindMaze Therapeutics Reports

New real-world evidence from a multi-site program conducted by MindMaze Therapeutics (SIX: MMTX) with Vibra Healthcare demonstrates that home-based rehabilitation using MindMotion can substantially increase therapy dose and improve functional outcomes for patients with neurological conditions. The findings, presented at the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine (ACRM) in Washington, DC, highlight the potential of gamified technology to extend high-intensity neurorehabilitation beyond the clinic and into patients' homes.

The retrospective quality improvement program evaluated 177 rehabilitation episodes involving 172 adults, primarily stroke survivors, across four Vibra Healthcare outpatient sites. Participants followed an eight-week home-training program using MindMotion GO, with an optional four-week extension and periodic therapist supervision. Results showed that patients completed an average of 174 minutes of active training per week, with 84.4% delivered asynchronously—without direct therapist supervision. The additional home training increased total motor-training dose by a median factor of 3.0 compared with usual outpatient therapy alone, based on published assumptions for active practice during usual care.

Feasibility and engagement were high: 92.7% of participants successfully completed home setup, and 80.2% achieved the predefined minimum training exposure. Among surveyed participants, 83.8% of satisfaction ratings were positive. Statistically significant pre–post improvements were observed in independence (Barthel Index: +10.4 points), balance (Berg Balance Scale: +10.5 points), cognition (SLUMS: +3.4 points), and mobility (Timed Up and Go: −8.8 seconds) among participants with available paired assessments.

These results build on previously reported inpatient findings with Vibra Healthcare and support MindMaze Therapeutics' strategy to provide a seamless continuum of care from hospital to home. The company plans to launch MindMotion Lite, a tablet-based solution, by year-end 2026. Recently announced, MindMotion Lite is designed to deliver the full range of MindMotion GO neurotherapeutic activities with substantially reduced hardware requirements, simplifying home deployment and supporting broader adoption by healthcare providers.

“Earlier this year, we showed that MindMaze's high-dose, high-intensity therapy, integrated into inpatient rehabilitation, delivers superior functional outcomes in a resource-efficient way,” said Zach Henderson, CEO of MindMaze Therapeutics. “Now, we are demonstrating that this value can extend into the home to address a well-recognized gap in care once patients leave the clinic, in line with the 2026 AHA/ASA Guideline for Adult Stroke Rehabilitation and Recovery. These results, combined with our upcoming MindMotion Lite tablet-based solution, will help make high-quality neurotherapeutics more accessible. Together, these milestones bring us closer to our mission of making neurotherapeutics available at scale.”

MindMaze Therapeutics (SIX: MMTX) is a global leader in scalable, precision neurotherapeutics, integrating advanced software, proprietary sensors, and AI-driven data analytics to provide a seamless continuum of care. The company's FDA-listed and CE-marked products aim to address the systemic shortage of specialized clinicians, offering scalable, reimbursable solutions for stroke, Parkinson's disease, and other neurological disorders.

For healthcare providers and patients, these findings suggest that high-dose home-based therapy can be delivered effectively with minimal supervision, potentially improving access to care and reducing the burden on clinics. The upcoming launch of MindMotion Lite could further simplify home deployment, making neurorehabilitation more scalable and patient-friendly. As the population of stroke survivors grows, such innovations may help bridge the gap between inpatient rehabilitation and long-term recovery, ultimately enhancing functional independence and quality of life.
