SS Innovations Reports 79% Growth in Robotic Procedures, Eyes FDA and CE Mark Approvals

SS Innovations International (NASDAQ: SSII) has reported significant growth in the utilization of its SSi Mantra surgical robotic system, with cumulative procedures reaching 14,103 as of Sept. 8, 2026, up 79% from 7,885 at the end of 2025. The installed base of systems increased 42% to 238 units from 168, according to the company's recent update.

The SSi Mantra is now installed in 12 countries, and approximately 1,500 physicians have been trained on the platform, which has been used for more than 170 types of surgical procedures. Recent international milestones include the launch of robotic cardiac surgery in Colombia, the first installation of an SSi Mantra in Sri Lanka, and the first telesurgery within the Philippines.

SS Innovations also highlighted 258 cumulative pediatric robotic surgeries and 188 robotic telesurgeries as of Aug. 31, including a telesurgery spanning more than 13,600 miles between Colombia and India. In August, five SSi Mantra systems were used to complete 50 robotic general surgery procedures in a single day in India.

Looking ahead, the company expects the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to complete its review of the SSi Mantra 510(k) premarket notification by the end of the first quarter of 2027 and believes European Union CE marking certification can be obtained by year-end 2026. These regulatory milestones are critical for expanding into major markets and could significantly boost adoption if achieved.

The growth in procedures and installations underscores the increasing demand for robotic-assisted surgery, particularly in emerging markets where access to such technology has been limited. SS Innovations positions its system as affordable and accessible, which could disrupt the market dominated by larger players. The company's focus on cardiac surgery and telesurgery also demonstrates the expanding capabilities of its platform.

For healthcare providers, the expanded use of the SSi Mantra may offer more cost-effective options for robotic surgery, potentially improving patient outcomes and reducing recovery times. For the industry, SS Innovations' progress signals intensifying competition in the surgical robotics space, which could drive further innovation and price reductions. The company's plans to enter the U.S. and European markets, pending regulatory approvals, could reshape the global landscape of robotic surgery.
